Transfer Student Center Virtual Meetings

The Transfer Student Center will provide 45-minute individual meetings to admitted transfer students as a first step in their onboarding at the University.

Meetings will be offered on select Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the summer, through August 31.

You may register for any upcoming appointment from the calendar below.

Session Objectives

The goal of these sessions will be:

• Share services provided by the TSC (connection to campus resources, University Life (optional if over 30 credits), assistance with initial registration, resource re: academic policies at the University, advocate and guide regarding University’s structure and procedures)
• Talk through steps of getting acclimated to campus:
  • Make decision to attend SHU, submit deposit
  • Ensure that student is able to access PirateNet account, if deposited
  • Have transcripts evaluated by the Registrar’s office, review transfer evaluation with advisor
  • Review requirements of desired degree plan, identifying a realistic graduation date based on credits
  • Review SHU academic calendar
  • Review course information on Canvas, acquiring the materials needed for each course
  • Submit initial tuition payment
  • Set initial appts with any needed support student services as part of success plan (Tutoring Center, Writing Center, DSS, Counseling Center etc.)
